Two of the worst floods happened in 1934 and in 1997. In Jully 1934, 55 people died after the River Dunajec burst its banks during heavy rain.<br \/>\nThe floods covered 1260 km and destroyed 22000 buildings,<br \/>\n167 km of roads and 78 bridges.
